Meaning of E-Learning for the Swiss Armed Forces
E-Learning is an additional and alternative training and learning method.
E-learning can fulfill a max. of 20-25% of the total training time (= 40 – 50% of the theoretical knowledge)
E-Learning is used in the „blended mode“ for more efficiency.

The centralized e-learning project replaces the many individual and heterogeneous initiatives in the diverse schools and training centers.

In comparison with other international surveys, Swiss people are well or very well equipped with regards to technology. We can expect few problems relating to hardware and access.
The acceptance of e learning in the Swiss Armed Forces is very high.
When compiling the training contents, our armed forces will collaborate with other armed forces. Internationally assured curricula and course contents will be reused. In doing so, contents will also be offered in the English language. Greater interoperability will thus be achieved, costs will be saved and at the same time, it will become easier to manage contents.
Standards are the basis for cooperation and the protection of investments in contents. They should be observed.
